Wednesday Night Craft Night

The Old Forge Library is excited to announce a brand-new lineup of free crafting projects for the ever-popular Wednesday Night Crafts!

These creative evenings will have a festive seasonal focus, featuring projects inspired by the seasons and by holidays, including Indigenous Peoples' Day, Diwali, Halloween, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving,  Hanukkah, and Christmas. Sessions begin at 5 pm and are designed to offer a fun, social atmosphere for all ages.

October

  • October 15 - Bubble wrap corn for Indigenous Peoples’ Day
  • October 22 - Diwali quilling 
  • October 29 - Mummy candy bowl 

November

  • November 5 - Veterans Day poppies 
  • November 12 - Pie garland 
  • November 19 - Pinecone turkeys

December

  • December 3 - Pipe cleaner Christmas tree 
  • December 10 - Nutcracker ornament 
  • December 17 - Recycled Oui jar Hanukkah menorah

These craft nights are open to everyone and are both family and senior-friendly. Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult. While all supplies are provided at no cost, quantities are limited, so participants are encouraged to reserve their spot in advance.

Funding for the Craft Get-Togethers is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with support from Governor Kathy Hochul and the New York State Legislature. Craft supplies for Fall 2025 were purchased with support from the Adirondack Community Foundation of the Adirondacks Generous Acts grant round.
