Summer Solstice Celebration at the Old Forge Library

The Summer Solstice, often called "the longest day of the year" in the Northern Hemisphere, will take place on Friday, June 20, 2025. This day marks the peak of daylight hours and has been celebrated by cultures around the world for thousands of years, dating back to some of the earliest known civilizations.

The Old Forge Library invites community members, friends, and visitors to join a special solstice celebration on the library lawn at 220 Crosby Blvd. in Old Forge.

Festivities will begin at 4 pm with a Cyanotype nature art activity, using sunlight to produce unique blue-toned prints. A seasonal ceremony and fire will follow as part of the celebration.

This event is free and open to all. While registration is appreciated for planning purposes, walk-ins are warmly welcome. To register, please call 315-369-6008 or email oldforge@midyork.org
