Midnite Mike will kick off the Old Forge Library Music in the Gazebo 2025 Series with a performance on Tuesday, July 1 at 4 pm on the library lawn at 220 Crosby Blvd.
A local favorite, “Midnite Mike” Grimaldi is a one-man band from Rome, NY, known for playing percussion, guitar, and harmonica—often all at the same time. Over the years, he has opened for legends such as BB King, Albert King, James Cotton, Hubert Sumlin, and Luther “Guitar Jr.” Johnson, and has shared the stage with talents like Joe Bonamassa, Jerry Portnoy, Ritchie Blackmore, and James Montgomery. His musical journey has taken him across the United States and abroad to countries including Italy, Germany, Austria, Portugal, Greenland, and Canada.
The expansive lawn surrounding the library gazebo offers plenty of space for attendees to relax and enjoy this free, family-friendly concert. Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket or folding chair. In case of bad weather, seating will be available under the large tent on the lawn.
During each Tuesday concert, weather permitting, the Friends of the Old Forge Library will host a used book mart. Visitors can browse and pick up books, DVDs, puzzles, and more, with donations gratefully accepted.
Since its start in 2014, Music in the Gazebo has become a cherished summer tradition at the library. Originally offering monthly concerts, the series has grown into a weekly event every Tuesday throughout the summer. This year’s lineup includes Jim & Gwen Tracy on July 8, Cosby Gibson & Tom Staudle on July 15, Cincinnati Creek on July 22, Rustic Riders on July 29, Penny Bianco on August 5, Mad Agnes on August 12, and Tom O’Carroll on August 19.
The 2025 Music in the Gazebo Series is generously sponsored by Pat Johnson in memory of Karen Lee, a dear friend of the library and the community.
