Feeling Long Lakey Polar Plunge
Polar bear dippers are invited to plunge into the icy waters of Long Lake for theis special event fundraiser!
This is a fundraising event to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. Anyone over the age of 16 is welcome to participate. Participants will be eligible to win prizes for Best Costume, Most Money Raised by an Individual, Most Money Raised by a Team and Best Plunge Technique.
Event Details:
- Saturday, December 27 at Noon
- Must be 16+ y/o
- Come as a team or individual
- Costumes and creativity strongly encouraged.
- Registration will be held at the Adirondack Hotel from 10:30am – 11:30am
- Plunging happening at Town Beach
- Bring towels, robes, warm clothes to change into, MUST wear shoes for plunging.
Fundraising efforts support Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) programs and services, which are provided at no cost to warriors and their families. Through their efforts at the community level, the “Feeling Long Lakey Polar Plunge” is directly supporting WWP programs and services for warriors, which include access to mental and physical health care, employment assistance, and education services.
The Long Lake Fire Department will be on site to cut the ice and help manage the safety of the Polar Bears and the Long Lake Rescue Squad will be on site checking participants blood pressure.
The Parks and Recreation department is seeking volunteers to be on site to hand out towels, and handle registrations.
There is a heated public restroom at the location and participants will have access to the building to change and to warm up.
