Benefit Gala & Harold K. Hochschild Award

The Adirondack Experience’s Gala, while being a blast of a night, is also the one major fundraiser the museum holds each year. During the event, the museum will be recognizing the Adirondack Community Foundation and Cali Brooks with the prestigious Harold K. Hochschild Award.

True Stories from Adirondack Farms & Farmers

As with everything in the Adirondacks, this is a time of change for regional farmers. Climate change is affecting the growing season and the foods that are available, and economic issues threaten small farmers. At the same time, the demand for local foods and recognition of farmers markets as community hubs is extraordinary. Please join us for a moderated evening panel discussion showcasing Adirondack farmers and metaphorically walking their fields with them. The panel program is free for all (donations welcome).

Felted Stone or Vessel Workshop

Wet felt a small vessel or stone from wool fibers using the wet felting along with the resist technique. The combed wool fibers mesh together through the movement of your hands, water and olive oil soap, and warmth. The resulting stone will measure 5-7”.
